darcy-pickardDarcy is a statistician and ecologist with ESSA Technologies in Vancouver, B.C. She holds a B.Sc. in Statistics, a minor in Ecology, and a M.Sc. in Statistics from Simon Fraser University. She has over fifteen years of applied statistical experience including most recently, ten years applying statistical methods to ecological problems, which is where her passion lies. Darcy has broad research interests and counts herself lucky to be able to contribute to a variety of fish and wildlife projects involving study design, data analysis, and simulation modeling throughout North America. She is currently involved in a series of projects for the Pacific Salmon Foundation to improve the technical foundation for implementing Canada’s Wild Salmon Policy in the Skeena Watershed. Darcy is also actively involved in a variety of volunteer projects including hummingbird banding and data analysis as part of the Hummingbird Monitoring Network, and wildlife rehabilitation.

Darcy was first introduced to the SNVB in 2009, when she attended the meeting held in Skamania, she became the Northern VP in 2011 and organized the 2012 annual meeting in Squamish, BC. In her free time she can be found playing football or hanging out with her dog Trapper.
